Take Out Tuesday Interview - El Centro

Learn more about El Centro and the team that operates the restaurant day-to-day by reading our Take Out Tuesday interview below.

El Centro Fiesta Menu

Tell us about the owner - why did you get involved in the food industry? Who manages the day-to-day in Georgetown?

El Centro is owned by Mexican-born chef/restaurateur Richard Sandoval. Chef Sandoval created El Centro to introduce Washington, D.C. to signature Mexican flavors and traditional dishes that he grew up enjoying. Chef Sandoval owns RS Hospitality, an internationally recognized contemporary Latin restaurant group that owns and operates over 50 restaurant concepts around the globe. Our incredible managers, Igor Radakovic and Milos Miletic, run the show at El Centro. Our Chef, Carlos Camacho, is the culinary genius behind the concept and ensures that Chef Sandoval’s vision is properly translated to all guests during their culinary experience at El Centro.

Why did you want to open a location in Georgetown?

Chef Sandoval fell in love with the vibe of the Georgetown neighborhood – the community, the lively main street, what’s not to love? He had already opened El Centro on 14th Street and wanted to expand the concept to Georgetown, but with an expanded space and menu..

What does hospitality mean to your family?

Hospitality is making guests feel at home. Our staff will go above and beyond to make our guests feel comfortable and enjoy themselves at our restaurants. We want to take them on a culinary journey to Mexico, enjoying the nostalgic recipes from Chef Sandoval’s childhood around his abuela’s table.

What is on the menu right now that you recommend to first-time customers?

Our Fiesta Package! Our fiesta package includes your choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert and are available for one guest ($35), two guests ($60) or four guests ($120). With a three-course menu, everyone can experience all our favorite dishes from El Centro in one sitting. Our favorites? The guacamole, chicken zarape and churros! Don’t forget a pitcher of our signature margaritas to complete the experience.

Please support El Centro for Take Out Tuesday on March 9th by ordering from the website or call the restaurant – El Centro is also available on GrubHub, UberEats, Postmates and DoorDash.
