Our Story
Founded in 2017, Georgetown Main Street (GMS) is a designated DC Main Streets program under the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development. For decades, Georgetown has been one of Washington, DC's most sought-after neighborhoods for living, shopping, dining, and studying. Today, that legacy is entering a new chapter. Georgetown is hot again, with a burgeoning restaurant scene drawing diners from across the region and a reputation as a premier destination for women's apparel. From longtime local institutions to exciting new openings, there is something for everyone along Wisconsin Avenue.
Through it all, Georgetown Main Street is here to support and stabilize the small businesses that call the Wisconsin Avenue NW corridor home, ensuring the neighborhood's next era is built on the same independent spirit that has always made it special.
