Juan Dromgoole

Board Secretary, Events Chair

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Juan Dromgoole temporarily studied in Grenoble, France focusing on legal studies and languages before transferring to Marymount University where he graduated with a degree in Political Science and Media Communications.

Juan Dromgoole is passionate about food justice and access for marginalized communities focusing on the importance of healthy and local ingredients and produce. Juan is the Director of Operations for Chaia, a local and women owned restaurant with three locations in the DMV. Juan is a member of several business improvement associations where he provides his advice and guidance on building inclusive, sustainable, and modern community spaces. He lives with his husband, Jonathan, & two dogs in Arlington.

1) Where is your favorite place to eat in Georgetown?

Falafel Inc. I am obsessed with their falafel & za’atar fries

2) What do you love most about Georgetown?

The sense of community & great collection of small businesses I love.

3) Where do you take guests to visit when they come into town?

Chaia, of course, and the waterfront. Duly Noted & The Phoenix for cool, interesting items. The Georgetown University campus because I am a Hoya by marriage.
