Georgetown Art All Night, part of the city-wide Art All Night event, is a free annual arts festival that brings together local artists and businesses to celebrate the robust offerings of the neighborhood.

Official Georgetown Art All Night Welcome Location
The Georgetown Neighborhood Library is one of the 26 locations belonging to the District of Columbia Public Library, and since its debut in 1935, it continues to serve as the “pride of the community” in the Georgetown area. Erected on the Georgetown National Register Historic District, the library features the only local history archive in town in its Peabody Room, eponymous with George Peabody, a 19th-century businessman who had gathered and cataloged materials decades before the library’s founding. After a damaging fire in 2007, the library underwent a substantial renovation that both retains its original lineaments and adds thereto children’s and teens’ spaces. Now, the 87-year-long library connects the past and present of the Georgetown neighborhood and presents them to locals and visitors alike.

Boat House Apparel opened its doors in Georgetown in 2023, and has quickly become a beloved local business. Situated at 1061 31st ST NW, along the canal, this brand is dedicated to bringing the resort lifestyle to the neighborhood. The store is headed by co-owner Samantha Ring, a local designer and DC enthusiast. The local enthusiasm is evident throughout the store through its charming DC designs. In addition to the Boat House Apparel label, the shop carries other brands that align with their style and values such as Rails, Sancia, En Saison, Coolibar, Lele Sadougi, Ellsworth & Ivy and more.

It was officially launched in 2002 as a successor to the Organization of African Unity (OAU). Gallery Article 15 is a unique gallery specializing in contemporary art from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). We feature an extensive collection of works by emerging, mid-career and established contemporary Congolese artists. In addition to ongoing exhibitions, Gallery Article 15 actively promotes Congolese art and culture through special events and programs. We work individually with each artist through a collaborative process.

• Funky Town, an exhibition of works by Congolese artist Francklin Mbungu.
The works of Francklin Mbungu (born 1972; lives and works in Kinshasa, DR Congo) are unique among contemporary Congolese artists. Made with intricate, hand-cut paper applied to canvas, to which the artist often adds string or ribbon to add additional volume and texture, these collages are truly magical. His subjects are often portrayed in flamboyant, and funky, outfits with a nod to 1970’s fashion and style. The works are bursting with color, vibrancy and joy.

I spent the past four years living at 8,500 feet, on the side of a mountain. I drank in the light and color, clarity and distance, movement and quiet. With each day above, below, and within the clouds, I came to not only see the landscape with my eyes, but also feel it in my body. I want these paintings to convey some of that sensation of living at elevation.

Pop Up Gallery at the Georgetown Lutheran Church

The Georgetown Lutheran Church, founded in 1769 and still vibrant today, enjoys opening their doors to their historic church and colorful gardens. They would love to welcome you to their worship at 10:00AM on Sundays, service projects, or simply to take some moments to appreciate their garden. All are welcome!
The church hosts the Jackson Art Center this year. The studio space is located on 3050 R St NW in Georgetown and hosts more than 40 local artists. Artists work in the former classrooms of the historic Jackson School that were converted to art space in the 1980s.

L’Enfant Gallery of Georgetown is Washington DC's premier fine art and antique gallery. Peter Colasante has been in business for 50 years and now has three packed floors of this corner mansion which hosts a collection which has taken half a century to assemble. Everything is for sale. Floor to ceiling original art works from all around the world. All nationalities, cultures, religions, and genders throughout history can be found. All are welcome here. Our contemporary ground floor includes paintings, prints, watercolors, oils and pastels. A marble Greek goddess sits beside West African tribal figures. Sculpture. Porcelain. Don’t break the Ming vases. The second floor hosts our significant Americana collection which includes classical American furniture, many dead Presidents and other political personalities, and relics from the Civil War. A renaissance room is brimming with fine furniture and paintings from the 16th, 17th and 18th century watched over by Madonna's and Saints. The third floor, usually a closed private office and library, will be open to the public for Art All Night. Because L’Enfant Gallery is celebrating 50 years in business in 2023 we have up to 50% off artworks inside the building.

St. John’s Episcopal Church

With a mission to engage with residents in the Georgetown community and the greater Washington area, the St. John’s Episcopal Church traces its history back to 1796, when a foundation was laid for a two-story building, and less than a decade later, the first structure at St. John neared completion. In recent years, Georgetown’s St. John Church has renovated many of its historic functions and added modern spaces, including a new preschool on the second floor. Just as its physical cornerstone has remained intact for more than two centuries, St. John emphasizes the interaction between religion and the secular community, providing all kinds of services to visitors with help from a substantial horde of volunteers. As a local church, St. John’s regularly hosts events for Christians and non-Christians alike, bringing to the Georgetown riverfront a sense of togetherness and mutual support.

As the first store dedicated to only Made in DC products, our shops are home to over 200 makers and nearly 5,000 MADE IN DC products including apothecary, apparel, art, furniture, jewelry, home decor and stationery.

Marie Darling’s Contours of Color is a new series exploring color and how personal experiences can change how we see color. Her inspiration comes from years of studying color theory both in her personal life and her many years spent in the classroom. Through these studies, Marie learned that our personal experiences, culture and identity influences how we see color. Using layers of acrylic, watercolors, and a variety of drawing materials, she embraced the process of color exploration. Marie tries to portray her personal experiences and love of nature through different color palettes enhanced by adding texture using yarn, thread, beads, and a variety of embroidery stitches. Marie hopes that the pieces she creates can connect the viewer to their life experiences and remind them of their relationship to color, finding their story, any story among the many layers applied to the surface. She likes to create work on both canvas and 300 pound cold-pressed watercolor paper. The frames that can be found on many of her works on canvas are handmade by Marie’s husband, Nic Darling.

Georgetown can be easily accessed by public transit via the Foggy Bottom Metro Station (Blue Line) and the DC Circulator. From Foggy Bottom Metro Station head north on 23rd Street to Washington Circle Park. The DC Circulator stop is located at the East point of the Circle at the intersection of K Street and 24th Street NW. The stop is marked by a circulator flag. Buses arrive about every 10 minutes. Board the Circulator marked Wisconsin Ave/P St. on the Georgetown - Union Station route. Disembark at the Wisconsin and M Street stop or any stop north until Q Street NW. Walk north on Wisconsin to activations beginning at Shop Made in DC at 1304 Wisconsin Avenue NW.
Parking is more widely available north of S Street along Wisconsin Avenue. To find a parking garage or a spot to lock up your bike, visit the Georgetown BID's website here.
